Three platforms this list does not cover, and when they matter
The ten above are the systems small and midsized forwarders shortlist most often. Three larger platforms sit outside that group, and leaving them unmentioned would give a misleading picture of the market.
CargoWise, and the pricing change that reset its cost
CargoWise, from WiseTech Global, is the platform large multi country forwarders standardise on, covering forwarding, customs brokerage, warehousing and trade compliance in one system. It is also the reason pricing model now belongs at the top of any evaluation.
On 1 December 2025 WiseTech replaced the seat and transaction licence model it had used since 2014 with CargoWise Value Packs, and moved roughly 95 percent of customers onto it. The packs bundle more than 216 modules and unlimited users into a single charge per logistics job, so seat fees and separate cloud hosting charges disappear. WiseTech has cited figures of about $19.95 for a full import container with an inland leg and about $9.95 for a standalone import customs entry.
The catch is that a per transaction model rewards high value, low volume files and penalises the opposite. Trade press reporting since the change has carried forwarder complaints of cost increases in the range of 20 to 50 percent, along with confusion over the transitional pricing protection adjustments appearing on the first invoices. If you are evaluating CargoWise, model your own last twelve months of shipments against the per job rate before comparing it with a per user quote. Two systems that look similarly priced per seat can differ substantially once volume is applied.
Magaya, for forwarders who also run the warehouse
Magaya serves freight forwarders, NVOCCs, customs brokers and 3PLs, and reports more than 1,700 customers across over 75 countries. Its distinguishing feature is that warehouse and inventory management sit in the same platform as forwarding, alongside customs compliance, rate management, a digital freight portal and CRM as separate modules. For a forwarder whose margin depends on a bonded warehouse or on pick and pack work, that removes an integration that would otherwise have to be built. Magaya does not publish a rate card, and quotes on user count, modules and transaction volume.
Descartes, for compliance heavy and brokerage operations
Descartes sells modular transportation, customs and EDI products rather than one suite, with Descartes Aljex aimed at brokerage and forwarding for order management, billing and carrier tools. It suits operations whose difficulty is regulatory filing and trading partner connectivity rather than day to day shipment handling, and it is usually chosen module by module rather than as a platform replacement. Pricing is quoted per customer.
